Microneedling is a skin treatment in which very small needles are used to create harmless micro-injuries on the surface of the skin. This stimulates the formation of new collagen protein in the tissues to heal these micro-injuries. In the process of healing, the skin’s appearance is rejuvenated.
When used in combination with radiofrequency energy waves, the service is called RF microneedling. While microneedling is being performed, the radiofrequency waves are transmitted into the skin through the needles. These waves stimulate collagen production.
Since both techniques impact the collagen-producing centers of the skin, you may be wondering why it helps to use them in combination with each other.
Put simply, while microneedling works on a surface level, radiofrequency waves reach much deeper in the skin layers. Addressing deep layers and surface layers leads to more comprehensive results for a variety of skin issues.
Additionally, pairing these techniques leads to an increased amount of collagen and elastin protein production as compared to either technique on its own. This results in more effective rejuvenation.
You will have to report to the med spa about an hour before the appointment. We may then apply numbing cream on the required areas in order to avoid any pain during the length of the process. Some amount of discomfort and minor pain might be felt by some patients initially during the service.
At the time of the session, the equipment used will be gently pressed against your skin. The needles in the equipment will penetrate your skin; we will be able to control the amount and depth of penetration to achieve the desired results. The radiofrequency energy waves will be directed towards the skin tissues at this time.
The treatment may cause minor swelling on the target area, which generally disappears within an hour or two. Tiny scabs may develop in the target area after the service. Dermatologists recommend not to irritate them by picking with your hands. These are nothing to worry about and will fall off on their own.
Improvement in the skin tissues occurs gradually as new collagen and elastin is produced. The results look quite natural.

The sides of my nose area were extremely thin. The skin was dull and just flat. It had no bounce. Now, I feel as those there’s more substance there and that area retains the same tone/texture as the rest of my face.
